Chubs and FiveEight Fever release New Album “Grhyme” — A Cinematic Underground Hip-Hop Statement
Suffolk County-based artist Chubs, is set to release his latest project, Grhyme, on May 1st. The album blends FiveEight Fever’s gritty boom bap production with dark, atmospheric textures inspired by vintage crime films and obscure soundtrack compositions. Drawing influence from 1970s and 80s cinema, the project creates a cold, immersive soundscape—built on dusty drum breaks, haunting melodies, and minimalistic arrangements.
Each track plays like a scene, capturing moments of tension, reflection, and survival. “I wanted the album to feel like a movie with no visuals,” says Chubs. “Something you can see in your head just from the sound.” The project features Bub Styles, Dead Lung, Blizz from Juice, 448 Brad, Gripz, AM Early Morning and Ox Omni adding layers of raw lyricism and underground authenticity.
